Eaten Fork
In 2014, Radu Calinescu of Romania proved that a player’s passion knows no bounds. His friend claimed that Radu couldn’t eat a fork. Radu won the bet, and even then without any major health problems, but for a time it discouraged him from betting. What in your kitchen (besides food) would you be willing to swallow for money?
History of card decks
Until the 16th century, card playing was only for rich people. All card decks were incredibly expensive because their design was created by prominent artists. According to legend, for example, one Italian nobleman bought an entire palace and the servants for it with his deck of cards.
Famous Players, Claud Monet
Did you know that the famous painter Claude Monet was also an avid gambler? He was very often seen in the company of his sponsor Paul Durand-Ruel at card games and brandy. The moment the artist lost a large part of his savings due to lack of income from painting, Monet bet his last money on the French lottery – almost miraculously, it paid off and he was saved from ruin.
