World War II veteran Elmer Sherwin, who won a nearly 5-million-dollar jackpot in a slot machine when he was 80 years old, knows this. An incredible continuation of his story was Elmer’s trip to the same casino 12 years later, during which he won another $21,147,947. Elmer proved that he had a strong and big heart when he first settled for such a shocking amount and then donated a large portion of it to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
